Anti-war demonstration 18th March

I recieved an email notice of tomorrow’s rally in downtown San Fransisco. The email also called for weekly anti-war meetings.

I jotted down the details of the rally on my calender, when a thought occured that this very act would be a matter of life and death in North Korea. A sudden fear gripped me. I imaged the different times and places where people lived in oppression; Cambodian Khmer Rouge under Pol Pot, Chinese Cultural Revolution, current Sudan, also ironically, former Iraq under Saddam Hussein.

Shivers ran down my spine. I imagined those who died for freedom. I felt relieved in the notion that we were safe to demonstrate here.

In China even now you could get canned for doing something like that. In Thailand you can get canned for bad mouthing The Honorable King. Though, most of the citizens love him so, I guess they wouldn’t need to do that anyway.

Good luck with your undercover operation Ayumi!
