Say I love you

Japanese people hardly ever say “I love you”, the translation entails a hot steam of embarassment and a slippery load of cheesy-ness.

For example, I’ve never said “I love you” to my parents. Except once when I was 5, to my dad when he found us a house. That was in England.

As a girl, I dreamt of my first kiss with a handsome prince on a horse. 4 months before my 11th birthday, it happened. “Oh I love you dear” I heard, and was kissed right smack on the lips. It was Grandma Norris. For a while I felt vaguely robbed of my cotton ball fantasy, but hey, it became a good story and so her memory lives on.

Love? I hope you find it today, somewhere.  Happy Valentines.

    Happy Valentine’s Day, Ayumi

I’m attending a local talent show, and Jamie is thinking of singing for the community.

She sang a love song at Christmas for her grandma. I believe she’s gonna sing it tonight for all the “Love-Birds”.

It sounds strange but the word Love didn’t exist in Japan till maybe 300years ago and the first missionarys found it really hard to explain their religion with out the word “love”.

I find it sad when we have to have a holiday to remind us to show love. Not all of us exhibit this but it just irks me.

How are you Ayumi? It has been sometime since we last spoke. Lets grab a tea or something. 4159714920.

    Happy Thursday.

Geoff, you haven’t changed since that picture of you to the left. You talked about the bible and the paint behind mirrors when you were 4.

funny, I had that same image in my head just the other day.

I was wondering where he’s gone, and that made me sad.
Then I found him and he found me, and that gave me a smile.
Because now I know that very nature of “I” transcends time.

Geoff, he’ll be back through our children.

on another note, i looked at myself in a big mirror the other day, and saw me as a baby crawling at my feet, and growing to what i am now, all years fast forwarded to 10 seconds. it’s quite amazing that i have a concept of ‘me’ at all. ‘I’ transcend time, i swear geoff, we’re here to collect memories, they’re stored and shared, that young geoff is alive in so many people’s memories.

We’re molding a great, big non-material reality. We need to live in a material world in order to collect memories, and we have to be ignorant of the truth, otherwise this material reality cannot be ‘lived’ purely.

That’s why wars are bad. If memories live on, that’s hell. That’s why beauty is good, and so is fun, enjoying life, exploring everything that the earth has to offer, all those memories we collect, that’s heaven. We want to be nice to each other, we want everybody to be happy, we want to learn to enjoy everything through suffering.

That’s why Bush should be impeached before he happily retires, or at least judged at the International Criminal Court. He’s created so much bad memories.
