Cockroach WOW!

“Without a doubt, cockroaches are one of nature’s ultimate self-reliant creatures…
Cockroaches can live for a week without a head, dying only of dehydration because they lack a mouth to drink, as thier brain is scattered throughout thier body.
They can hold their breath for up to 45 minutes
They can eat anything (they have a separate set of teeth in thier digestive system so they can literally eat on the run)
They can run upto 3 miles per hour
They can withstand the amount of radiation equivalent to that of a thermonuclear explosion
They have eyes made from over 4,000 individual lenses, enabling them to see all directions at once
They can stop their heart without causing harm
They give birth to baby roachs and not eggs (anomally in insect world) so the eggs don’t get eaten
They possess complex behaviour methods such as group-based decision-making when it comes to divvying up food resources.”

Thanks for sharing, Ayumi!
The cockroach has amazing abilities and a very strong will to survive!
October 2nd, 2008 at 7:47 pmI am so very afraid of cockroaches. I fear even having to see them. That is a very scary costume indeed.
October 2nd, 2008 at 8:32 pm…BLEH!!!!! When you grow up in Humidity-Ville Texas (Houston) you learn to hate these things no matter what their talented survival methods. Another interesting fact about roaches “They melt when you spray them with rubbing alcohol”.
October 2nd, 2008 at 10:12 pmWow, you’ve seen them melt Maiwenn?
We were once walking on the pavement in India at night, and felt and heard crunchy noises below our feet. Yup, it was a colony of them talking the night walk.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:01 pmI used the photograph of “Cockroach WOW!” in my site. I withdraw it if you decline it. The reason that I used: A cockroach is an insect disliked most in Japan, but your photograph is not avoided at all because I am pretty when it is a cockroach.I’m sorry. It processed one part of your photographs.
