WOW! Buy at a Police Auction

A man rode in the parking lot with cool granduer. People turned their heads. Kids exclaimed “Bat mobile!” Some said “Mad Max”.
The man was not shy to talk to those who gathered around his v-twin engine black stalion. The belly of the motorcycle almost touches the ground, and there’s an air compressor that raises the body when he turns the key.
“I bought it at a police auction for $250,000″ he said. I’d never heard of a police auction, so I asked what it was.
Apparently when the police catches a criminal, they confiscate thier belongings, which get auctioned off to the public that help raise money for the police department. I looked it up online, there’s even an e-bay style online auction site: http://www.policeauctions.com
The previous owner of the motorcycle was a crytal meth dealer. I guess that’s better than owning something with real blood on it? Not sure.

I never get to find out when police auctions are until it’s too late. If the NZ police can’t return property the find at a criminals house it waits a while and then goes on the auction too. That’s why i make my self easy to be returned. I use an ultraviolet pen to write my address on the inside cover or some unused corner. Police check for that sort of stuff.
December 1st, 2008 at 10:56 amHey Ayumi it’s been a while since I’ve been here!
That’s one rad rockin’ roller … ride.
Hope all is well!

December 3rd, 2008 at 12:11 pmAbsolutely. In the UK a police officer came to our school on careers day and told us about both of those and I’ve plenty of references to it in the media since.
December 4th, 2008 at 12:20 amUpdate: We got burgled on Friday
Nothing of mine got taken but a flatmate lost his laptop and all backups.
Police came today for finger printing and I checked that NZ police do look for names and phone numbers using ultra-violet lights, so we’re marking everything up now.
