Update: We got burgled on Friday Nothing of mine got taken but a flatmate lost his laptop and all backups.

Police came today for finger printing and I checked that NZ police do look for names and phone numbers using ultra-violet lights, so we’re marking everything up now.

Absolutely. In the UK a police officer came to our school on careers day and told us about both of those and I’ve plenty of references to it in the media since.

I never get to find out when police auctions are until it’s too late. If the NZ police can’t return property the find at a criminals house it waits a while and then goes on the auction too. That’s why i make my self easy to be returned. I use an ultraviolet pen to write my address on the inside cover or some unused corner. Police check for that sort of stuff.
