There was one time when I felt I understood the excitement of waving to a train. I was waiting for my ride on the platform, when I saw the train approach and it felt like a friend. Difficult to explain, but the train made me happy and I thought maybe this is what train lovers feel.

I remember going through a train phase myself as a kid (though I don't recall anything with Thomas, even though he's been around for a long time). Not exactly sure why, though. It went away after a while, but I still always get a little nostalgic about trains.

Hey Ayumi!

Caleb, my 3-year-old nephew, loves Thomas the Tank Engine. He also knows most of the other characters on Thomas' show by name. Yes, there must be something about that show that fascinates toddlers!

Funny you mention that! Well, Cairo, 14month old, loves to read Thomas the train book and he loves his little Thomas toy. He can't really distinguish the difference between cars and trains yet, but whatever it is, he goes "brnnnn brnnn" and loves it!!!! Some hidden message in that face maybe????
