My co-worker came to the office a bit excited, a bit blue-faced. “The Muni was on time today, but on the way, a lady screamed. I looked her way, she was standinig near the door, the train was running when the door opened! A man grabbed her arm so she was okay, but the door was fully […]

On Sunday, an annual 12km marathon was lead by a group of runners, followed by an entourage of people who danced the same path, flaunting a party spirit from one end of San Francisco (the Bay) to the the other end (Breakers). Here are some humanimals captured below:
Looks like more resting than walking, I think […]

95F (35C) in San Francisco today.
A historical overturn on Mark Twain’s famous phrase; “the coldest winter is a summer in San Francisco”.
At the same time, same sex marriage became legal in California, 2nd US state to drop the ban after Massachusettes.
Hot day, feels like I’m on holiday in the Caribbeans, except the office cubicle and […]

Came by the famous Brown twins of San Francisco today, dressed to the nine and gleeful as I’ve seen them on magazines. Their bios are achingly sweet.

Met a woman on a street with a pet mouse. She’s been caring for it since it was born. Squeeky looked snug in her palm.

Co-workers and I walked one block towards the crowd, utlilizing our lunch break to spectate a heated gathering. The two torch runners run a different route, avoiding the crowd.
(Tibetan man came to America 5 years ago. The protests are […]

“Not many people this week”
“Nice weather, I wonder why”
Two ladies offered us a spot on the wall of an empty sand box. It was their 9th weekend tiling the playground with community volunteers.
Juxtaposing a sketch that a group of children had envisioned for the wall, we pondered for a while which broken tiles best […]

When tribesmen from the Amazon visited a city for the first time, they were most shocked with 2 things. First the loudness and second the pungent scent. The scent of living people -sweat, shampoo, cologne, breath, skin, talcon powder, cigarettes, tooth paste- together with car exhaust, restaurant cooking and rubbish, all mix together to create a distinct ‘city’ smell.

I remembered this on […]

The lady downstairs ran outside carrying her smoking television set. Shortly after, the drummer in the attic came downstairs with a smoking alarm clock. I thought to grab my camera because this made a good story, but realized I had to save my piano. So I ran into my room and un-plugged the power strip.
The […]

Walking home Tuesday evening, we crossed paths with a swarm of fiery lads and gals jogging toward the Ferry Building, all carrying pillows. About a thousand people gathered to release their inhibitions at San Francisco’s first organized pillow fight. News here.
