Thank you

Something nice for the eyes today.
I spent my first night out next to the zoo, the next day at a studio where we recorded. I was a little overwhelmed and also touched by the concerns people had for me for sleeping outside. I half grew up in a tent though, the outside air was soothing.
I […]

Reunion

The team came back from Mongolia. For all except me, it was a reunion after 6 weeks. Our families embraced the long awaited men. Amidst the airport ringing hellos and goodbyes, our welcomes echoed loudest.

Omi, Kenny and Tyler.

At last, something other than sheep meat.
Crab melt sandwich from Dylan’s restaurant.

“Oh my, bruised from hail?”
Apparently they got […]

A little about Mongolia and Ty’s movie

Mongolia’s land mass is 3 times bigger than France, yet France has 20 times the population. About half of the 2.7 million Mongolians live in gers, and 30% live a semi-nomadic / nomadic life.
In such sparsely populated land, it’s essential that people help eachother. Mongolians would stop at any nearest ger and be invited inside […]

Pictures from Mongolia

Hooray! Here again, the world wide web!

Gotta love this kid. Half the population live in gers.

Inside a ger, I was served sheep noodle-soup.

Always panorama. This is what most of Mongolia looks like.

Kenny, Tyler, Omi and Bam filming an epic scene in the Gobi desert.

The engine is placed next to the driver’s seat, for easy access. […]

I’m going to Mongolia!

I leave tomorrow to Ulanbaartaar, arrive there 2 days later after a stop-over in Beijing. In the week ahead, I’ll be with Tyler and his crew travelling the Gobi desert. ‘360 degree horizon’, they say.
An expansive land, most people there have never seen the ocean. I have never seen the desert. I am lucky to […]

Telegraph from Ulaanbaatar

Tyler and the crew (Omi, actor, and Kenny, director) are safely nested at a home of a kind Mongolian family, who have let their flat for a while. They met one of their daughters here in California who opted to help.
The father of the household happily wears a San Francisco T-shirt, which the crew presented […]

Birthday

Tyler and I spoke at two elementary schools today, we talked about, amongst other things, technological advancement of Japanese toilet seats. It was incidentally also Tyler’s birthday, so he got special treatment of standing on a stool with a cake hat, listenting to students sing a distorted version of the birthday song.

In the evening we […]

So…

Nothing new, a lot to do, took a break and saw Spider Man 2.
(Actually, it was Spider Man 3 but 2 rhymes better.)
I cried a bit watching the drama, at the same time I was wondering what to write for my blog.
There was a shower scene. Tyler nudged me with his elbow.
“Do you know how […]
